Emphasis and goals
Handlers is our most advanced class, focused on the handling skills that separate a clean run from a fast one. Expect to work sequences at the Masters level and to be pushed on the movements that show up in championship courses.
- Advanced handling skills and movement
- Backsides
- Threadles
- Serpentines
- Advanced distance work — linear, sequencing (gamble), layering
- 180's and 270's, wraps and turns
- Crosses and lead outs
- Obstacle discrimination
- Strengthening weave work — drive, difficult approaches and exits
- Practice sequences at the Masters level
- Strategies for running courses as a team
Prerequisite
Handlers is intended for teams already competing at the Advanced level or higher. Completion of Intermediate or equivalent experience, plus a successful evaluation.
